The New Guy: A Guide to Making Friends at The Royal Athena

Posted by Nicholas Cerminara on 07/07/16

The time has finally come: It’s move in day! Moving into a new area or even just a new apartment building can be a little nerve-racking. You might have the urge to hide away in your room and watch marathons of your favorite TV show, but we want you to resist that urge. The Royal Athena offers many common areas where you can quickly become friends with your neighbors.

In fact, our luxury real estate itself was actually built on a socialization model for this exact reason. Here are a few ways to make use of it:

  1. Meet your neighbors

When you move into a new place, it’s a good idea to introduce yourself to the people living around you. These are the people you’ll see fairly often and you already share one thing in common: living on the same floor. Who knows, your neighbors might just be your first friends in your new home.

 Sit by the pool

Lounging by the pool can be a great way to unwind and meet new people. When it’s hot, your fellow residents are sure to flock to the pool. You can strike up a conversation with someone while sitting in the cabana area or even while you’re taking a dip.

  1. Check out the clubhouse

What better place to make friends than the clubhouse? The name itself brings thoughts of camaraderie. The clubhouse is the perfect place for you to bond with your fellow residents over some billiards or even sit down and watch the game on one of the flat screen TVs.

  1. Hit the gym

If you’re looking for a new gym buddy, you might just find one in the fitness center. Whether cardio, strength training or yoga is your thing, you’re sure to find someone who has similar interests and can keep you motivated. It’s a win-win.

  1. Don’t be shy

The Royal Athena has Wi-Fi enabled community areas where you can sit and do work or just browse the web. This is a great way to meet people passing by or even others sitting around you. So, don’t be shy; introduce yourself.

Being the new kid on the block doesn’t have to be so bad, especially when everyone else is new, too. It’s easy to make friends at The Royal Athena because it’s designed to promote a social atmosphere.
